5 stars for the Exhibition Tour of Wedge Collection, Dancing in the Light with MOCA Curator Kate Wong.

I enjoyed the talk very much and gained insight behind the photography pieces and paintings behind Ken Montague’s collection.

There are 3 floors in the building, each floor focusing on one artist.

On the ground floor, there is a large window.

A window piece by an Iranian artist referencing Middle Eastern art and design elements that make up a pattern. As the artist states, this large window is similar to a screen where one can’t see inside from the outside but if one is inside, you can see the outside. A person can observe but not be observed.

The colour against the raw concrete is quite dramatic and beautiful.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
A pedestrian only walkway lined with restaurants, bars, stores on either side. As a tourist, I appreciated this area, making it quite easy to find a restaurant of my choice.
McMichael is one of my favourite museums in Ontario. It is set in a beautiful piece of land which will undoubtedly inspire one to paint or draw. Stepping foot into the museum that was once a home to Mr. McMichael and family brings a feeling of contentment and joy.

The collections, the permanent and current exhibits are all well curated.

There’s a sculpture garden, the cemetery where some of the Group of Seven artists have been laid to rest, and a trail which is open to the public.

They sometimes have tours which are well organized.
One of the finest art museums in the world, it never fails to please and surprise me with its exhibits whether permanent or not.

There are 3 buildings, I was only able to do one (never had enough time!) and yet, everything on display was varied and had something for everyone.

The building itself (by Moshe Safdie) is already an architectural eye candy. There is no bad angle.

When in Montreal, this place is a “must visit” for art aficionados.

Highly recommend!

Excellent service - attentive, kind and helpful.

Delicious authentic food - their BBQ items are tasty. We ordered the fried pork loin with spicy garlic, yeung chow fried rice, crunchy sweet & sour pork, fish fillet with sweet corn, young snow pea leaf with garlic. The whole meal was cooked very well. They do a great job. Wasn’t able to take photos of the other food items, we ate them too quickly.

Vibe - simple but we felt very welcome and the wait staff were accommodating. They didn’t rush us when we had finished. It seems like the customers are regular old timers, people knew each other.

Highly recommend.
